misty morning but cleared away before noon-

Made macaroni & cheese for dinner-
and finished ironing
Harry came after dinner and took Clara to Ithaca was back for supper and Harry stays all night-
I put down the carpet in Aunty's north living room this afternoon-

Monday, June 29, 1936
plesant all day
Clara & Mother went to Ithaca and got supplies for Carpenter Mr. Alexander to fix windows and paint floors and put up picture molding in front room.
Mr. Marshall, Electrician, came to fix wiring receptacles for lights & stove & a light over the pump. Dr Stuard came & took Mothers blood pressure- all O.K. good^ all day.
Harry & I took out rug from middle room
*Harry went home this eve.

plesant untill about 5 o'clock p.m. when we had thundershower all evening-
Harry and Clara went to Depot and got rug and they went to Ithaca about Clara's furniture insurance
I mowed the north side of lawn
we spread down the rug and arranged the furniture in the front south room- It looks fine-
Mother better but uncertain today-
Hay pressers to day-

cooked chicken dinner with strawberry shortcake
Clara done up carpet and old clothing to send to Olsen Rug Co*-
to make a rug for front south room-
Harry took Mother and Clara to Ithaca this afternoon and Harry and Clara went to movie of Cecil Rhoodes^ this eve-
Mother was good
*"Olson Rug Company was established in 1874. The manufacturing mill was located in Chicago at Diversey Ave. and Pulaski. During the war era, when raw material was scarce, people would send in their old wool rugs, rags, clothing etc. and Olson Rug would turn them into a beautiful area rug." ^Cecil RHODES was British businessman involved in the diamond mines in Africa. In 1936, a biopic came out about him called Rhodes of Africa starring Walter Huston as Rhodes. Presumably, this is the movie Harry & Clara went to see.
