I made a lemon pie and ginger bread this forenoon-
Harry raked leaves from south lawn & burned them in driveway
Harry took me to town this afternoon
I bought 3 house dresses and underweara kid gloves and collar-
Harry treated me to Lemon soda and bought ice cream for supper-

I cooked chicken for dinner & made biscuits-
Clara called on Leroy Bower this forenoon and they went to Elmira to see Mr. Davis about the hay this afternoon-
Mr. & Mrs. Clayton Bower called
Harry, Mother, Aunty & I went to Auburn & Half Acre for a ride-
Leroy Bower took supper & spent evening with us-

Clara got two cherry tables ready and loaded in Harry's car and Harry & Clara went to Ithaca with them this afternoon
Mother got terribly upset and was nervous all afternoon-

The hay pressers worked all day and took tractor home at night-
Charles' wife and Junior called and Elnora Evans and Dorothy Delano also-
I done part of the ironing and mended this afternoon-
It has been a very warm day
Mother did not like the ironing and wanted the coal^ fires all out and no wood-
^"coal" was added in after Irene wrote "fires" because it appears above like it was added for clarification due to having wood fires also.

Rainy and cloudy all morning but getting clear this afternoon so Mother and I went for a walk and called on Marie Barron in the gothic* house.
Mother has been restless all day.
I rec'd Easter card from Bertha George & family-
Earl Beckwith has dislocated his shoulder-
*Gothic architecture was typically created in stone, however in the late-19th century carpenters in the US adapted to style for timber houses. The steam-powered jig saw allowed for intricate "gingerbread" type designs to be cut out of wood & applied to houses.

Plesant all day North wind-
The electric line men* fixed the wires so we have lights tonight-
Iliff called this eve-
brought me his make of doughnuts and Florence^ sent me a bowl of ice cream-
both gifts were wonderfull-
Mother has been quiet all day-
We are all tired from lack of sleep and nerves caused by the storm and lack of lights.
*Now I have "Wichita Lineman" by Glen Campbell stuck in my head.
^Irene's friend Florence Searles, mother of Mildred Searles.
