Cloudy & thaws
Charles brought over groceries and took 20 qt can back and brought it full of water to drink-
I dusted through both living rooms this forenoon-
Took my bath this afternoon-

Cloudy & hazy & thaws
Made apple pie and two extra shells-
cooked and canned Aunty's green tomato and cabbage chow chow*-
Mopped the kitchen, swept my bedroom
fixed the electric light over well-
Rec'd nice letter from Iliff-
Chas. stopped for our grocery kist
Loaned Aunty $5.00 bill-
Mother good all day-

  • 12 medium onions (4 cups)
  • 1 medium head of cabbage (4 cups)
  • 10 green tomatoes (4 cups)
  • 12 green bell peppers
  • 6 sweet red bell peppers
  • ½ cup coarse salt
  • 6 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 T mustard seed
  • 1 T celery seed
  • 1 ½ tsp. turmeric
  • 4 cups white vinegar
  • 2 cups water

Harry & I went to town and cashed the checks and got groceries, fruit, & vegtables
was back at 1-30 and got our dinner-
Elnora Evans came and brought us butter-
Aunty has been sore & cross today-
Mother has been good-

plesant & warm with a real shower all evening
Aunty and I have tried to work but had interuptions all day-
Bardo grocery, the meat cart and Charles came after a bag of wheat and the truck driver came for hay and I had to take tallys for Leroy-
I gathered string beans for dinner and cleaned doors in Mothers room
*Aunty Rec'd letter from Clara.
